BASIC STATISTICAL METHODS

ISYE2028 (OSCAR)

Random Variables, Normal Distribution, Inference, Fundamentals od Regression and Experimental Design.


Philosophy
This course is concerned with the use of statistical inference for the analysis of data from a variety of sources. The orientation is applied rather than theoretical, but such theory as is necessary for a proper understanding of the methods will be covered. Data from a variety of disciplines will be analysed during the course. These will include: industrial experimentation, business forecasting, agricultural field trials, environmental sciences, etc.
