Sometimes an application causes the speaker icon to disappear from the right end of the Windows Taskbar. The display of the speaker icon can be controlled from the Multimedia applet in the Control Panel. Select the Audio tab and check the box Show volume control on the taskbar. The dialog box is illustrated in Figure 24.
