    Prerequisites: A Calculus-Based Intro Statistics Course. Exposure to basic Linear Algebra.

    Deliverables and Grading:

  • Homeworks will be assigned weekly or biweekly. Submitted in electronic form via T-square. Homeworks will be due usually 3 to 5 days after being uploaded on T-square and/or course web page. In-class quizes will be submitted via T-square.
  • Exams include Midterm (scheduled in the week of April 1, 2021), and a Comprehensive Final (scheduled on Exams are individual, open book, open notes, open notebook. All web-based resources are allowed, however communicating about the exam problems via email, phone, social networking software, or eatablishing communication in any other manner with a third part is strictly prohibited.
  • According to GaTech's Rules and Regulations any absence from exams should be pre-approved unless caused by emergency situations. For pre-approved absences you need to provide written documentation of the excuse BEFORE the exam. If you do, a make-up exam will be given at a mutually agreed upon time.
  • In the case of emergency, you (or a person whom you designate) should inform the instructor promptly via email. A valid written excuse (e.g., signed by a doctor/nurse, excuse from dean of student's office, or similar) is necessary in order to be able to take a make-up exam. Machine stamped, unsigned walk-in forms from Students' Health Center are not valid written excuses (as also stated in the preamble of these forms). In the case you do not have a valid written excuse, the make up the exam would not be possible.

  • Software: MATLAB, R, and WinBUGS are supported. You could use Python, STATA, STATISTICA, SAS, JUMP, Minitab, SPSS, and similar, but no instruction is provided on those. Computers are used in class and will be required for Midterm and Final.
  • Academic Honor Code: Please familiarize yourself with the Georgia Tech Honor Code. This is your responsibility.
  • During the semester this syllabus may be modified to provide students with more information or to clarify the existing content. If a modification is made it will be announced in class in a timely manner.
