Verizon:

From: "Benfield, Shane" <shane.benfield@verizon.com>

IE's,

I graduated from Tech as an IE in May, 2001. I have been working for

Verizon Communications since 6/25/01. I am in the Logistics Development

Program. This is a management training program for Verizon's Supply Chain

Management division. There are 3 six month assignments. Generally there is

one each in Purchasing, Warehouse Management, and Logistics Services. If you

are interested in a career in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, this is an

excellent opportunity for well-rounded experience. Associates in the

program are treated with great respect and have many opportunities to network with

all levels of upper management. After 18 months you will be placed in a

position that matches your experience and desire with the company's needs. The human

resources manager in charge of this program has asked me to assist him in

taking and recommending resumes. So, please send me your resumes and post them on

jobtrak. Please call or email any questions you may have about the program.

The interview date is 10/10/01. I will contact some of you personally to

introduce myself via telephone or email. Attached are two documents that

offer greater detail about the program.

We need candidates for our two management trainee positions as well as four

openings for interns in the spring and this coming summer. Here is a

a copy of the advertisement for the management trainee position as approved

by Employment.

The co-op/intern opportunity was posted at the INFORMS Professional

Opportunities page at http://www.informs.org/Jobs/ads/1998.html; however, I

have learned that the Professional Opportunities is being dismantled so that

Lionheart Publishing can force everyone to submit classified ads for a fee.

At any rate, our advertisement remains at our own site at

http://www.nscorp.com/nscorp/html/jobs/coop/ie_or.html. If you could print

that page, post it through your building along with the attachment, that

would be terrific. Also if any fantastic graduate student at the

master's level that would like to consider a position with NS, please send me your resume.
