Alexander Shapiro, Professor

Current research interests are focused on stochastic programming, risk analysis, simulation based optimization, nondifferentiable optimization and nonsmooth analysis, sensitivity analysis and optimization of queueing networks, sensitivity analysis of nonlinear programs, multivariate statistical analysis. Dr. Shapiro serves on editorial board of a number of professional journals. He was an Area Editor (Optimization) of the Operations Research journal and the Editor-In-Chief of the Mathematical Programming, Series A, journal. In 2004 Dr. Shapiro joined the list of ISI Highly Cited Researchers. In 2013 he was a recipient of Khachiyan Prize for Life-time Accomplishments in Optimization, awarded
by the INFORMS Optimization Society, and in 2018 he was a recipient of the Dantzig Prize awarded by the Mathematical Optimization Society.
