Welcome to the ISyE Workforce Communication Program Web Site

The ISyE Workforce Communication Program prepares engineering students for the workplace by providing them with opportunities to learn and refine communication skills. The Program incorporates communication obtained directly from the workplace through one-on-one interviews with practicing engineers, managers, and senior executives. The interview process is ongoing and provides the Program with a continually expanding database of instructional tools. Dr. Judith Norback directs the Communication Program and is the ISyE Director of Workplace and Academic Communication.

The Workforce Communication Lab supports Communication Program activities and is located in the main ISyE building. The Lab provides presentation practice areas with facilities for video taping and video review. Students can exercise presentation skills, in group or individual sessions, and get feedback on presentation style and materials. Writing instruction and feedback is also provided.

This Web Site provides information and resources related to the Workforce Communication Program. All Communication Tool resources used during in-class instruction and in the Workforce Communication Lab are available for viewing and download. The Program's extensive collection of sample workplace materials will be available on this site in the Spring of 2005.

Feel free to explore the Workforce Communication Program site, and let us know how we can help you. To learn more about the Program, or to find out how you can participate, feel free to contact Dr. Judith Norback. For directions to the Workforce Communication Lab, please refer to the Lab map.
