Jekyll Island Club Hotel: Getting There

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is located on Jekyll Island, Georgia. It accessible by interstate highway I-95 at Exit 29, approximately midway between Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL.

There are a number of ways for you to travel to Jekyll Island.

Here are a few ideas:

Airports:

Most travelers to Jekyll Island will fly to either Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) or Savannah / Hilton Head International Airport (SAV). Jacksonville is 65 miles from Jekyll, and Savannah is 90 miles away.

More distant options that international travelers may wish to consider include the Orlando International Airport (MCO) (230 miles), home to Walt Disney World, or Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) (320 miles).

The nearest airport to Jekyll Island is Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport (22 miles), however this facility is only served by four daily flights on Delta from Atlanta and thus the ticket prices can be quite high.

Automobile Rental:

If you can organize a small group or if you are considering exploring the region a bit before or after the workshop, car rental may be a good choice. Rates for unlimited mileage from Jacksonville (JAX) should be about US$45-80 per day, from Savannah US$25-40 per day, and from Orlando US$30-65 per day.

Jekyll Island Club Transfers:

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel offers transfers between both the Jacksonville Airport (JAX) and the Savannah Airport (SAV) at extra cost. If you are interested in this option, please let us know your arriving flight information. We will try to match you up with fellow arriving participants to minimize costs.

Driving Directions:

The hotel is located Jekyll Island, accessible from U.S. Interstate I-95. From I-95 take Exit 29 onto U.S. Highway 17/82 toward Brunswick for 6 miles to the Jekyll Island Causeway (State Road 520). Proceed on the Causeway East 6 miles to the Jekyll Island collection station ($3 park entry fee). Make the first left (U-turn) and move to the far right lane. This is Riverview Drive and takes you directly to the front of the hotel.

FROM JACKSONVILLE AIRPORT (JAX): Follow airport exit signs to I-95 North. Travel on I-95 North across Florida/Georgia state line, and then on to Exit 29.

FROM SAVANNAH AIRPORT (SAV): Follow airport exit signs to I-95 South. Travel on I-95 South to Exit 29.

FROM ORLANDO AIRPORT (MCO): Follow airport exit signs to FL-528 East. Follow FL-528 to FL-417 (Central Florida Greeneway/Seminole Expressway) North. Follow FL-417 to I-4 East toward Daytona Beach. Follow I-4 to I-95 North. Travel on I-95 North across Florida/Georgia state line, and then on to Exit 29.

FROM ATLANTA AIRPORT (ATL): Follow airport exit signs to I-285 East toward Macon. Follow I-285 to I-75 South. Follow I-75 to Macon, and then take I-16 East at left exit #165. Follow I-16 East to I-95 South. Travel on I-95 South to Exit 29.
