Personal Information

I was born in Istanbul, Turkey . I received my Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from Bosphorous University which (no doubt) has the most beautiful campu s in the world. I received my Ph.D. from Texas A&M University (in Industrial Engineering ) in 1995.
I LOVE running . I am very lucky that we live in Atlanta since it has the second largest Road Runners Club Atlanta Track Club in the nation. I have some running pictures for you. I did not do a marathon in 2003 because our beautiful daughter Mira was born in January 2004. However, I was able to run till the day before I delivered. Here, I am running in Murphy Chandler Park (where I do all my training runs) towards the end of my pregnancy picture. I was back to marathoning in 2004. It was wonderful to see Mira at the finish line of the 2004 Atlanta marathon. 10 month old Mira together with her happy mom at the finish line and at home after the marathon picture, picture, picture.
