November 2007 :: Seattle, WA

The next annual JFIG lunch meeting will be held at the 2007 INFORMS Conference in Seattle. We invite you to organize or participate in JFIG sponsored sessions. We should have topics which are of interest to junior faculty, such as research and publications, tenure, balancing work and family, writing grant proposals, working with industry, advising graduate students, etc. In addition, we also invite sessions co-sponsored with other sections/societies/fora. For example, if a session within the MSOM cluster has primarily junior faculty speakers, it can be co-listed as a JFIG sponsored session. Please contact Feryal Erhun if you would like to organize or participate in a JFIG sponsored session.

More that 100 junior faculty met for lunch at the 2006 INFORMS Conference in Pittsburgh.. Lunch was provided thanks to support from Northwestern University - Department of Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences, Princeton University - The Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE), University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business, and University of Texas-Dallas - School of Management.

More that 130 junior faculty met for lunch at the 2005 INFORMS Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Lunch was provided thanks to support from Lehigh University (Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science), Stanford University (Department of Management Science and Engineering), University of Iowa (Department of Management Sciences, Tippie College of Business), and University of New South Wales (Australian Graduate School of Management).
