Doctoral Colloquium
OVERVIEW

The Doctoral Colloquium is comprised of two distinct tracks (Academic and Industry) and is targeted toward Ph.D. students who are near graduation. Through presentations, panel discussions, and question-answer sessions, the colloquium covers important topics such as careers, trends and directions; research and publishing; obtaining grants and working in industry; and job search.

The colloquium provides an excellent opportunity for interaction between doctoral students and some of the most successful people in Operations Research and Management Science. Some important takeaways from this colloquium include a good understanding of how to find a job that will enable you to achieve your career goals and how to build a successful career.

While all Doctoral Colloquium participants will attend sessions on topics of common interest throughout the morning, there will be separate afternoon sessions for the academic and industry tracks, catering to students who plan to pursue careers in academia and industry, respectively. Many students who have attended similar colloquia in the past have found the experience to be extremely rewarding.
